Finding A Hotel That Will Look After Your Children

Even if you’re holidaying with the whole family it’s nice to know you can relinquish a bit of responsibility for the kids from time to time. And choosing a hotel that turns a nice family holiday into a fantastic family holiday isn’t all that difficult if you know what to look for.
A family friendly hotel will always offer a cheery welcome to your kids – even if you’ve been on the road for ten hours and your little ones are tired, hot and grumpy when you arrive.

Providing little extras such as colouring sets and activity packs, many hotels go the extra distance in ensuring your children settle in straight away. And your children will soon get to know the staff members who actively go out of their way to make sure they’re having a great time.

Look for a hotel with clubs, games rooms and fun sports activitys as these are always popular with younger guests. With designated times for activities and games, if you’re not careful you could end up planning your holiday around your little one’s social life. But at least you’ll have some time to yourselves – and the luxury of a relaxing grown up drink or two in the bar. If the hotel you choose has a variety of facilities to keep the children amused, it does show a commitment to their happiness and enjoyment – which can only be a relief for everyone.

If you’re visiting a hotel with a baby or toddler, if they provide a formal babysitting service it might just turn out to be the highlight of your whole stay. You’ll be able to dress up nicely and have a nice, relaxing dinner knowing your child is in safe hands.

If you’re taking older children then look for a swimming pool, gym or tennis court to help keep them active and entertained while they’re away. But be sure to check the terms surrounding the use of these facilities to avoid disappointment for you or your family.

See if it’s possible to investigate the children’s menu befrore you book – this’ll tell you a thing or two about how well the hotel understands kids. Whilst we all want our children to eat healthily, there comes a time when we’re just happy for them to eat – and none more so when we’re paying for it in a hotel! So just because it’s labelled “children’s menu”, this doesn’t mean the food just be bland and uninspiring. Meal-time should be a pleasure rather than a pain – especially when you’re on holiday. A child friendly hotel will go the extra mile in ensuring its kid’s meals are creative, tasty and nutritious.

Most people will have to set a fairly strict budget when choosing their hotel. If a hotel genuinely welcomes children, they should offer good deals to tempt you to take your family along. If you can get free or discounted accommodation and meals for your little ones to boot, it’s safe to say the hotel actively encourages you to bring the whole family for an enjoyable time together.

Although almost all of you may be disagreeing with me, you don’t know until you have tried it. Even though you may be one of these people you should make sure that you have a think about this. There is one main factor in a Spa holiday, helping you to relax. Spending all your time together as a couple can become a little tense in the atmosphere, so some time apart is healthy for your relationship.

The ability to feel absolute peace is quite difficult but can be close to achieving on one of these Spa holidays. All of you that have been a part of a Spa holiday know that this is a powerful experience. When someone gets too close to you it can get quite annoying when you are trying to relax. Spending so much time with the same person all the time, can get quite stressful so, the last thing you need to do is take that stress on holiday with you as well.

There is some evidence to show that for some people taking your partner on holiday will undoubtedly improve how secure you feel, but is the same for a Spa holiday. Now, i am not going to start telling you to get down and dirty, it is however conceivable that just being close can cause aggravation. For a few people it is however important to have the person you spend all your time with you, for that extra feeling of security in order to start the relaxing experience.

Spa holidays are big across the world, with some of the most popular locations being Caribbean spa holidays and Thailand Spa holidays.

Scotland Vacations: Pitlochry, Perthshire

Scotland is a mixed nation, exquisite rural districts with a huge choice of astonishing spots, country homes, historical buildings, fortified houses and castles compared with towns and cities which features a mass of first class tourist attractions including some of the most highly interesting galleries and museums in the whole of Britain. Below I talk about the incredibly popular Scottish vacation destination of Pitlochry.

Pitlochry is a rather small burgh situated on the banks of the River Tummel in the council area of Perth and Kinross in Scotland. Known widely as the “Gateway To The Highlands” the small town is eminently popular with hill-walkers, ramblers, mountain climbers, hikers and other people of that type. Obviously plenty of other activities of this ilk can be thoroughly enjoyed in the surrounding countryside and you will also discover a supreme list of attractions more than worth a visit. Due to the massive appeal there is an excellent choice of guesthouses and hotels in Pitlochry, with the vast majority of them being situated on the town’s high street.

Pitlochry Attractions To Visit

Blair Castle: Blair Castle, which can be dated back to the 13th century, is the ancient seat of the Earls and Dukes of Atholl. The construction of Blair Castle started in the year 1269, under the guidance of John I Comyn, the Lord of Badenoch, a northern acquaintance of the Earl of Atholl. The Earl was away, fighting in the Crusade’s, when his neighbor began to build of his castle on his land. As soon as the Earl returned home he complained bitterly to the king of Scotland (Alexander III) about his neighbor, and his lands were returned. Rather than destroying the tower than John I Comyn had built, the Earl decided to merge the tower into his own castle. A Great Hall and a number of vaulted chambers were added to the castle over the centuries, by  subsequent Earls. It was the second Duke of Atholl who, in 1740, decided to renovate the castle as a Georgian Mansion.

Killiecrankie Visitor Centre: During the Jacobite period Killiecrankie, not a great distance from Pitlochry, found itself filled with the sounds of battle. The government soldiers were heavily overwhelmed by the Jacobites, under the control of Bonnie Dundee. During the bloody battle one of the escaping soldiers managed to jump across the River Garry, which became known as, Soldier’s Leap. The area about the gorge and pass were a favored place of Queen Victoria. To find out concerning the famous battle you can visit the Killiecrankie Visitor Centre. The center has a selection of otherdisplays and services, which include; a natural history of the area, guided walks and ranger service’s as well as many others.

Pitlochry Hydro-Electric Power Station: A power station is a bizarre location for a visitor center, but this is just where you will find the Scottish Hydro Electric Visitor Center. The center is found inside the striking Pitlochry Power Station, and features interactive displays which describe the history of hydro power in Scotland, dating from the 1940’s right up to the present day. The Pitlochry Dam, which was constructed between 1947 and 1951, offers the thrilling opportunity to watch the amazing salmon ladder through three viewing chambers. Inside the visitor center, you will discover interactive and audio-visual presentations which explain this natural phenomenon. The turbine hall of Pitlochry Hydro-Electric Power Station can also be seen from within the Visitor Center.

If you are thinking about taking a vacation in Scotland based in Pitlochry then you can find Pitlochry bed and breakfast online by using the search term “Pitlochry hotel accommodation” or “Pitlochry bed and breakfast” into your favorite search engine (the inverted commas can help greatly).

Best Tipping Practice In The States

Tipping in America is simply the done thing. It doesn’t matter where you are from, when you are in the US you should understand that it is common place and part of the culture. The following is a top 5 guide to tipping for anyone visiting this beautiful country.

1. Have some dollars ready. When you exchange your money into dollars, set aside a bit for tipping and make sure you always have around $10 in singles in your wallet at any given time. This means you won’t have to ask for change and you can tip whatever value you want easily. Don’t be embarrassed if you have to ask for change though as it is quite common.

2. Bars. Drinks bought at the bar should really be tipped at about a $1 each. If your round extends to more than 3 drinks then just reduce this ratio slightly. A 10% bill should be added to the total if you are served your drink sitting down by a bar man or lady

3. Restaurants. This kind of depends which what type of restaurant you are eating at. Those at the lower end of the market only need tipping the region on 15%. For more formal sit-down meals you should expect to pay along the lines of 20-25% of the cheque. If the staff go the extra mile for you then you should really thank them by tipping a little extra for their work.

4. Bags.A tip of one dollar per piece of luggage is usually given to the porter who bring your gear up to the hotel room. This will be the same at most hotels, health spa resorts and serviced villas alike. This is a pretty standard rule of thumb but you can always go over if the porter was very nice or there was more effort involved than usual. The helpers who carry your bags at the airport should be tipped between 2 to 4 dollars per bag

5. Poor service. don’t reach for the dollars in your wallet set aside for tipping if you don’t find the service satisfactory. But be sure to explain your choice. Most service providers want to hear where they can improve and won’t be offended. If you have poor meal or you don’t like the beauty products used during a visit to a health spa for example, speak up and let them know where improvements can be made.
